Some of our Year 10 Textiles students have been working hard this year towards their ‘This Is Creative Enterprise’ award, starting the first day of the Gold Stage at Northumbria University this week.
Students started the day with a presentation from Trend Bible, a local business supplying trend predictions for companies around the world. Using a predicted trend for Spring/Summer 2016 as inspiration, they then had a go at a variety of techniques to produce a pattern, which will be used to create digitally printed fabric. This fabric will then be used to produce their final product – this year, a dress to be worn at Royal Ascot!
It was a fantastic day for all students involved and it really gives them an insight in to different career opportunities available within the Creative Industries.
