On Friday 8th July and Saturday 9th July, 40 students from Burnside helped out at the biggest event of its kind in Europe. over 2,000 athletes from every county in England bring their elite athletes (Future Olympians) to compete over the two days. Our fantastic helpers ensure that all of the athletes were ready to compete and on time. They had the opportunity to develop their own inter-personal skills, organisational skills, leadership skills and many more to keep to a regimented timetable. Without all of the helpers, an event like this could not take place. The praise from athletes, team managers, UK officials kept on coming and they have been a credit to themselves and the school. Well done to all of the helpers and team of staff (Mr Metcalfe, Miss Selkirk, Mr Morgan, Mr March, Mr Harrison and Mr Welch). A massive well done to all of you, I hope you had a restful weekend.
