As part of a collaboration with Newcastle University aimed at raising aspirations amongst younger students towards University as an option for them 15 of our Y8 students attended a NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM!

As our students mixed with others from schools around the region the programme started with icebreaker tasks and subject specific sessions held around the University Campus. Students then worked their way around a carousel of activities at the Great North Museum: Hancock and ended their evening with an interactive quiz before bed time; sleeping on roll mats amongst the exhibits!

Students finally took part in group work competition requiring them to develop a student society to be show-cased at a ‘Society Fair’ on the final day of the event.

This has hopefully planted the seed that not only is a University course achievable for them, but also that is can be fun!

By all accounts our students had a brilliant time, if not very much sleep!
