We would like to invite you to the Year 7 Settling In Evening on Tuesday 12th October, 4-7pm. This is an “in person” meeting with your child’s form tutor. It will be an opportunity to discuss how they have settled in and to learn more about Classcharts, Google Classrooms and our target-setting and reporting systems. Please use the booking system to make your appointment. Any issues with the booking system should be directed to support@burnsidecollege.org.uk.
Although the meetings will take place within the Year 7 area in block 1, you should enter the school through main reception where you will be directed to the event. In order to ensure that all parents and carers get the chance to speak in depth with form tutors, please ensure you arrive in plenty of time for your appointment and notify main reception if you are unavoidably delayed. Ms Greenwell (Progress Leader for Year 7), Ms Hall (Additional Educational Needs Co-ordinator) and various members of the senior leadership team will be available to answer questions that remain after your appointment time.
Bookings can be made using the following link https://burnsidecollege.parentseveningsystem.co.uk/

Students aged 12-15 years on the 29th September are being offered a COVID vaccine. This process is being managed by the Immunisation Team and schools have been asked to assist by making available consent forms and providing a space for vaccines to take place in due course. Parental consent is required for vaccines and eligible students will be given a consent form to bring home today.
What you are asked to do:
- Please indicate on the consent form whether you do or do not give consent for your child to be vaccinated
- Ask your child to return the completed consent form to their form tutor or progress leader by Lesson Zero on Friday 1st October 2021
As a school we are unable to respond to queries specifically about the COVID vaccine.
