Congratulations to our year 11 students who collected their GCSE results today.
Like with our A level results last week we saw record breaking results at the top grades at Burnside College – with a record number of grade 9s.
As you will be aware, this is the cohort of students that were in year 7 at the start of the pandemic, so were in year 9 before attending secondary school for a full year without disruption. Therefore we’re particularly delighted to celebrate their successes today.
Many of our leavers will be returning to our outstanding sixth form to continue their studies, and enrolment is now open. Whilst others will be moving on to alternative further education providers, apprenticeships or employment.
We are proud of the achievements of all of our students and would like to wish them all the very best in the future.
Congratulations to our year 13 students on their incredible results this year.
A number of students achieved straight A* grades in all three of their A levels for the first time at Burnside College as the number of A/A* grades tripled from last year.
Almost two thirds of our students will be heading off to university next month with places on courses now confirmed. Once again our students will be heading off to various parts of the country to study, from Scotland to the South of England, with many students being accepted into universities in the North East. The range of subjects students will be studying is wide ranging and includes: medicine, law, midwifery, quantity surveying and neuroscience.
Good luck to all of our students next month, including those who will be starting apprenticeships and full time employment. We are proud of all of our students and their impressive achievements whilst at Burnside College.
