We are delighted to share our Weekly Bulletin for Friday 17th July 2020.
Parents Guide – A Guide to help students and their families.
Here is the summer 2020 episode of Burnside TV, written and filmed by Burnside College pupils. We hope you enjoy!
School may be particularly closed but that hasn’t stopped our intrepid reports from bringing us a Burnside TV Lockdown Special. Here is their special episode for our new Year 7s in September. We ask who can we go to for help at Burnside; what rewards are available in school; a new uniform exclusive and finally what do our three core values of Pride, Achieve and Respect mean. Well done team.
Have a great summer and weāll see you all soon for more Burnside news and exclusives!
Cashless Catering
From Thursday 3rd September we will be operating a fully cashless system. This will minimise contact between year groups and student bubbles (students cannot access the cash top up machines in line with current guidance). This will also improve speed of service. All parents/carers must use our e-payment method to pay for student lunches. This can be done online using a very secure website called ParentPay.
- Parents/Carers of students starting at Burnside College in September will be sent login details to ParentPay shortly.
- ParentPay login details will be also be re-shared with parents/carers of current students.
In addition to this we will operate an colour coded option system for lunches. This will improve efficiency of service and ensure students spend less time queuing. Our first menu will be shared towards the end of the summer.
New to ParentPay?
To create a new account, you will need to have the account activation letter/email, which will be provided shortly. You will also need to be able to access your email as your email address will become your new username and is used for the verification process.
If you have lost your activation letter or not yet received it, please contact your school.
Please note, if you have previously had a ParentPay account you should attempt to login to this account and follow the add a child process, rather than creating a new one.
- Navigate to parentpay.com
- Select Login at the top right corner of the screen.
- Enter the username and password (activation codes) provided in your account activation letter/email and select Login.
- Complete the activation as detailed on the screen.
- You can now log in to your account.

We are delighted to share our Weekly Bulletin for Friday 10th July 2020.
Following from the letter sent last week, and the responses via the google form, we are able to confirm a Welcome event for our new Year 7 students on the 13th (Form classes B, U, R and R) and 14th July (Form classes S, I and D), from 12:00pm-5:30pm. We have organised 1:1 meetings with form tutors to take place in school (socially distanced) to answer any questions you may have and check in with families. If you would like to attend please sign up to a meeting with your child’s form tutor . This will help us plan with students’ needs in mind and prioritise support where needed when school reopens.
We have completed a complex risk assessment and safety is central to decision making around the organisation and we will ensure appropriate social distancing. If you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to get in touch with Miss Stephenson (n.stephenson @burnsidecollege.org.uk).
A guide is available to help you to make bookings here or at the bottom of this page, and a direct link to the Parentsā Evening System is here.
If you are unable to log in, please ensure that you are using the email address that we have on record for you. If you have any questions or difficulty making a booking please contact ict-support@burnsidecollege.org.uk for assistance.
Kind Regards

We are delighted to share our Weekly Bulletin for Friday 3rd July 2020.
Dear Parent/Carer,
We are working to try and ensure that we have had the opportunity for some face to face time with all students before the Summer. At the moment we are trialling some virtual tutor group sessions for all students to take part in (invite via the students’ email account) and have had fantastic attendance at these sessions. Also, we have organised IAG ( information, Advice and Guidance) sessions with form tutors to take place in school (socially distanced) to answer any questions you may have and check in with families. If you would like to attend please sign up to a meeting with your child’s form tutor from 1-5pm on the 8th or 9th July. This will help us plan with students’ needs in mind and prioritise support where needed when school reopens.
We have completed a complex risk assessment and safety is central to decision making around the organisation and we will ensure appropriate social distancing. If you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to get in touch with Miss Collins (h.collins@burnsidecollege.org.uk). We are hopeful that we see you soon but fully understand if you do not think that this is the right decision for your child and family. At this time you must do what feels right for you and we will continue to offer support through online/delivered learning materials- including virtual sessions.
