We are delighted to share our Weekly Bulletin for Friday 12th June 2020.
Dear Parent/Carer,
Thank you so much for the excellent repose to the survey that I sent out at the end of May. We have used the information provided by you to help us come up with a plan for year 10 to access some ‘face to face’ time this term. At the moment we are trialing some virtual tutor group sessions for all students to take part in ( invite via the students’ email account) and plan to do the same for subject lessons starting next week.
As mentioned in the parent bulletin on Friday we are offering a partial reopening for year 10 students to attend some face to face lessons in school during either am or pm sessions in the coming weeks. We have completed a complex risk assessment and safety is central to decision making around the partial reopening.
Prior to reopening we would be keen to meet with families who either wish for their child to return or where they may feel they need support around home learning or ongoing live lessons. We have organised for IAG ( information, Advice and Guidance) sessions with form tutors to take place the week beginning to 22nd June. If you wish for your child to return to school or if you would like more information please sign up to these sessions. This will help us plan with students’ needs in mind and prioritise support where needed. It will also help us put together smaller groups of students who will attend together to be taught a limited range of subjects for the remainder of the term- temporary smaller teaching groups- to ensure social distancing.
If you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to get in touch. We are hopeful that we see you soon but fully understand if you do not think that this is the right decision for your child and family. At this time you must do what feels right for you and we will continue to offer support through online/delivered learning materials- including virtual lessons.
A guide is available to help you to make bookings here or at the bottom of this page, and a direct link to the Parents’ Evening System is here.
If you are unable to log in, please ensure that you are using the email address that we have on record for you. If you have any questions or difficulty making a booking please contact ict-support@burnsidecollege.org.uk for assistance.
Kind Regards
Charlotte Jenkins
Deputy Headteacher
