We are delighted to share our Weekly Bulletin for Friday 8th November 2019
We always take Health and Safety seriously, therefore at Burnside we have taken the decision to become a nut-free school. The consequences for people with nut allergies can be potentially life-threatening, therefore we have opted to remove nuts and nut based products from the curriculum and Catering Services do not use nuts or nut based products in their menus. Suppliers to Catering Services are requested to supply nut-free products, however, some products may be produced or packaged in an environment which handles nuts, posing a risk of cross-contamination. Should you want to discuss any dietary needs directly with Catering Services, please contact 0191 643 8355.
To support our decision to become a nut-free school, we ask that your child does not bring nuts or nut based products into school. Thank you for your on-going support in helping to keep Burnside a safe place for everyone.
We would like to invite you to the Year 10 and 11 IAG evening and Sixth Form open evening on Tuesday 12th November. In addition to an appointment with your child’s form tutor (which is bookable as normal via the Parents Evening System) you will also have the opportunity to hear about our wonderful sixth form which has once again achieved the best results in North Tyneside. Throughout the evening there will be a subjects fair in the main hall, with information about all courses available, as well as regular presentations from our Head of Sixth Form. You are free to attend this presentation, and visit the subjects fair, either before or after your form tutor appointment depending on what is most convenient for you.
Bookings will open at 9.00am on Wednesday 6th November and will close at 1.30pm on Tuesday 12th November. You can book an appointment to see your child’s Tutor between 4.00pm and 7.00pm. A guide is available by clicking here and can also be found below.
If you require any assistance, please contact ict-support@burnsidecollege.org.uk. We look forward to seeing you!

We are delighted to share our Weekly Bulletin for Friday 25th October 2019
‘Wallsend Inspires’ is a free careers event for the whole family!
Saturday 26th October 10:30am – 1:30pm @ TyneMet College
Planned in collaboration with all Wallsend education providers and the North Tyneside Learning Trust World of Work Team, we are delighted to announce the first ever event of it’s kind this year!
We want to support people living in Wallsend and the surrounding area to make informed decisions about the next stage in their education, training or future career paths.
This will be particularly useful for students in Year 11 or sixth form but just as important for all members of the family!
No need to register for the event – just turn up on the day from 10:30am at TyneMet College.
