The quality of the competition was high and unfortunately neither student was able to qualify for English Championships. |However both students were able to run personal bests though and enjoyed the experience . Well done Peter and Millie.
On Monday 22nd January Burnside hosted an U15 Netball friendly against Walker.
Burnside started strongly and scored a number of unanswered goals in the first two quarters. With an improved defence after half time Walker closed the gap in the score. Both teams then put on excellent attacking and defensive displays with Burnside holding out for a well-deserved victory! Well done to all the players involved the game was played in a great spirit with a lovely sense of fair play!
Netball Club is on for all years on a Monday night 3-4pm. Please attend if interested!

Yesterday our fantastic Sixth Form gave 145 local Senior Citizens a free Christmas Party here at Burnside. This year’s party was the 25th and so to celebrate we had more guests than ever, more hamper prizes than ever, and more Elves than ever!
The whole school joined in by collecting food for the hamper prizes and they were entertained by, the fantastic Music Students organised by Miss O’Neill.
The party gives our Sixth Formers the chance to show how much they care about others and help them develop vital skills for life after Sixth Form. We are very proud that our Sixth Form regularly go on to achieve some of the best results for any school in the whole country.
We are looking forward to the 26th!
Well done to all staff and students involved today!
Sixth Formers studying Health and Social Care and Travel and Tourism had a great few days away at Kielder last week. Health and Social care students helped to run Christmas crafts at the Kielder First School and visited the Calvert Trust with the Travel students. Calvert Trust is a holiday centre for people with disabilities. Travel students also investigated tourism and customer service in the area and had a go at many of the adventurous activities on offer. Everyone got fully involved with the team building activities and they were all a credit to Burnside. Thank you to all the staff who gave up their time to come and help.
