Burnside will be closed for Half Term from Monday 26th October 2015 to Monday 2nd November 2015. Ā School will re-open for Students on Tuesday 3rd November 2015.
I have been out to Cramlington Healthwise Ladies Group this morning with 2 students from 6th Form Cherise Battensby and Amy Timmins. Ā Together we presented Ā our Go for Gorgor girls campaign and raised Ā£136. Ā I am incredibly proud of the students who represented the school with pride. Ā The ladies we spoke to were very impressed with our campaign and the lengths that Burnside College students will go to when helping others.

The DofE Gardening Club is in the process of harvesting all their autumn crops which has included lots of fruit from the orchard. The gardeners have learnt to store the fruit correctly and, over the next few weeks, they will preserve it in the form of lots of lovely jams and chutneys; which will be on sale just before Christmas.

As a result of 3 parent governor terms of office coming to an end, the Governing Body now has vacancies for 3 Parent Governors.
All parents (including carers) of registered pupils at the school are eligible to stand for election. Should there be more nominations than vacancies to fill, a secret ballot will take place.
The term of office for Parent Governors will be as per the Instrument of Government for this school, which is 4 years.
Parents have an important role to play in the education of children and being a Parent Governor can give you an opportunity to contribute to the education of all children at your school. Training and support for Parent Governors is provided by both the school and the LA. If you require further information on the role of the Parent Governor, please contact Susan Watson, at Burnside.
Parents who wish to be nominated should request a nomination form from the office, which they should read carefully and complete. Once completed this should be returned to:
