Students were pond dipping last week and noticed all of the rubbish that had blown into the pond, such as drinks cans and crisp packets which can trap pond life (tadpoles/newts) and kill them, so they decided to have a clear up. We filled 1 1/2 black bags with rubbish from the pond and surrounding shrubs. Whilst there we discussed the impact waste has on the environment and discussed how we can be more vigilant.
