Y7 English students take part in this year’s Northern Children’s Book Festival
A group of students visited Howdon Library to hear John Hegley perform. John is an English performance poet, comedian, musician and songwriter, and hilarious to watch.
He is up in our region performing for different schools as part of the NCBF. He performed some of his own and other poets poems, accompanying himself on STEVE, his mandolin. His session combined humour, poetry and music to show students just how much fun poetry can be.
The group ended up by taking part in writing their poem carrying on from the first few lines of Adrian Mitchell’s poem entitled YES, and then performing it with some amazing dance moves!!
A good time was had by all.
