Kooth is a fantastic resource which offers online counselling and mental health support for children and young people. It is free to use, anonymous and safe.
Young people can log on to www.kooth.com and access a fully qualified counsellor who can offer them support around issues they may find difficult to talk about face to face or with somebody they know. This counselling service is available 365 days a year until 10pm at night.
Other support offered by Kooth includes access to articles written by young people on topics around mental health issues. Young people can also join an online community and share their thoughts with others facing similar difficulties. There is also an option to complete a daily journal so that young people can record their thoughts and begin to understand their mental health.
Burnside highly recommends Kooth as a resource for our students, however, we would also urge any young person struggling with their mental health to seek support from their Progress Leader or the Welfare Team in 3G28.
