5th March – Visit to RVI Newcastle
6th form students will be attending a Bimodical Science session at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle to discuss Information and Guidance in future careers in this field
12th March – AIS Apprenticeship week visit
As part of Apprenticeship Week, 9th – 14th March, North Tyneside Council have been working with AIS (Advanced Industrial Solutions) and are delighted to be able to offer Burnside the opportunity for 15 of our Year 10 and 11 students, a half day visit to their centre on Thursday 12th March. The company will show them all the facilities including the submersible helicopter and explain about all the career opportunities in the Gas and Oil industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for your students to find out more about the industry, career opportunities and apprenticeships.
17th March – Community Canvassing for Heritage Skills
Year 9 students will be conducting surveys in the local community as part of their Heritage Skills project.
25th March – Wallsend Library Author Presentation
Year 9 students are to attend an interactive session with two Graphic Novel Authors to discuss their Graphic Novel around the Sufragette movement and the campaign for Votes for Women which fits into the Y9 Curriculum.
26th March – Target Setting Day
Burnside will be hosting a Target Setting day with parents and students from Year 7 to 10 to set Targets for the forth coming academic year
27th March – Geography Field Trip to Tynemouth
Students are visiting Tynemouth to gain an understanding of coastal processes occurring on our local coastline. This will enable them to identify features associated with coastal erosion and to help them understand management strategies in place to deal with coastal erosion and why they are there.
