We always take Health and Safety seriously, therefore at Burnside we have taken the decision to become a nut-free school. The consequences for people with nut allergies can be potentially life-threatening, therefore we have opted to remove nuts and nut based products from the curriculum and Catering Services do not use nuts or nut based products in their menus. Suppliers to Catering Services are requested to supply nut-free products, however, some products may be produced or packaged in an environment which handles nuts, posing a risk of cross-contamination.
