Students from year 10 and 11 qualified for the Tyne and Wear Key Stage 4 badminton finals on 6.2.17 held at Northumberland Badminton Centre. To reach this stage they had to negotiate two qualifying rounds.
At the finals, they played Mortimer School (South Shields) winning 5 – 0; Emmanuel College (Gateshead) lost 2 – 3; Gosforth Academy (Newcastle) the eventual winners lost 0 – 5; and finally Kepier School (Sunderland) won 5 – 0.
Congratulations to Calvin Chan, Lewis Lee, Ronan Ho and Phillip Ho not only for their excellent level of play, but also their outstanding sportsmanship and conduct throughout the competition.
